Green Point Vineyards
Moët & Chandon established the Green Point vineyards and winery in Victoria's spectacular Yarra Valley in the mid- 1980s. The 50 hectares of vineyards are planted with the traditional Champagne varieties, Chardonnay (50%), Pinot Noir (45%) and Pinot Meunier (5%). However, the fruit is supplemented with grapes grown in other regions of Victoria, as well as from as far away as Tasmania and Western Australia.
Head winemaker Dr. Tony Jordan produces exemplary methode Champenoise wines which include the Vintage Brut, Blanc de Blancs, and Blanc de Noirs. Green Point also produces impressive still wines from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Certainly the most successful of Moët's overseas ventures and arguably the leading premium sparkling wine producer in Australia.
