KT & the Falcon
Kerri Thompson ('KT'), graduate of Roseworthy College before working in
Italy and France, has spent the last eight years carefully identifying
prime Clare Valley sites
while making wines at one of the region's larger estates. Steve
Farrugia, a Maltese descendant, is the 'Falcon': grapegrower and
KT's business partner.
Together they have recently launched the KT & the Falcon vineyard estate, an 8 ha/20 acre property located near Watervale, at approx 420 metres above sea level on red loam over limestone. In addition they source fruit from the Peglidis and Churinga vineyards to supplement their needs.
The range consists of a single-vineyard Watervale Riesling, courtesy of the Peglidis vineyard; a Watervale Riesling; and a Shiraz Rose. Tiny quantities have been made of these finely-tuned dry wines.
