Bordeaux 2005 Revisited

'Extraordinary', 'legendary' and 'best-ever' are some of the adjectives you will have seen used by the pundits to describe the 2005 vintage in Bordeaux. Indeed, we utterered these same words when the wines were released en primeur last May.

Since then we have re-tasted many of the wines and we haven't changed our minds - this is an astonishing vintage and some of the wines are the greatest we've had the privilege to drink.

If you haven't already indulged yourself with some of the wines from what, with time, could prove to be the greatest-ever Bordeaux vintage, or simply want to top up on purchases you have already made, we present this final opportunity to secure a case or two before they are shipped next Spring, when prices are likely to rise further.

	Light-Medium Bodied, Dry, Red, Pinot Noir, Drink now, Organic (Not certified/in conversion), 12.5% alc. Wines Lying in Barrel , Not available for delivery. Lovely mid purple with exceptional perfume on the nose, alpine strawberries and delicate raspberries. No more than medium bodied, but this is a really pretty Bourgogne rouge. Drink 2011-2013 .

	Medium Bodied, Dry, Red, Pinot Noir, Ready, but will keep, 13.5% alc. Wines Lying in Barrel , Not available for delivery. The first vintage for Sylvain from a new farming agreement on some vines planted in 1978. Tiny bunches of grapes have made a deliciously pretty wine with the usual Loichet energy. Drink 2011-2014 .

Attractive, medium deep, bright red colour with really attractive uop front fruit on the nose. 	Light-Medium Bodied, Dry, Red, Pinot Noir, For laying down, 12.5% alc. Wines Lying in Barrel , Not available for delivery. Fullish bright purple. Very pretty rich fruit on the nose with a hint of chocolate from the stems, along with some smoky bramble fruit. Middleweight with a delicious finish. Already lovely but best 2011-2013. Drink 2011-2013 .
