Bordeaux 2007 - Buyer Favourites

Best Value Wine - Domaine
de Chevalier Rouge, Pessac-Léognan
Intense, inspiring and irresistible, this year's Domaine de Chevalier Rouge
punches way above its weight.
Cellar Must Have - Liquid
Gold Assortment Case, Sauternes
This year's Liquid Gold is number one on my list as it's the best way to buy
Sauternes in terms of both variety and quality. I can't wait to crack it open
in a few years time.
Wine of the Vintage - Domaine de
Chevalier Blanc, Graves
Perfection. Sublime concentration and depth. Truly breathtaking.
Nicholas Pegna, Managing Director BB&R Hong Kong
Best Value Wine - Ch. Moulin St
Georges, St. Emilion
Excellent value as ever, less rich and full but still very open, exotic and
sexy.
Cellar Must Have - Ch. La Conseillante,
Pomerol
This property goes from strength to strength under Jean-Michel Laporte and this
is definitely one of the wines of the vintage.
Wine of the Vintage - Domaine de
Chevalier Blanc, Graves
Stunning complexity and richness, a great success.
Tom Cave - Cellar Plan & Customer
Reserves Manager
Best Value Wine - Ch Léoville
Barton, St. Julien
Anthony Barton's anticipated leniency on price is fulfilled, making this as
ever one of the most sought after buys of the vintage. Léoville Barton
always satisfies, the 1997 and 1999 were great successes for their years and
the 2007 will prove equally rewarding.
Cellar Must Have - Liquid
Gold Assortment Case, Sauternes
A most convenient way to sample four different Sauternes/ Barsacs; the sheer
class of Rieussec and Suduiraut which can wait a while longer than the more
approachable Coutet and amenable Doisy-Védrines. You just need to decide
on bottles or half-bottles though bear in mind a bottle, once open, will last
(re-sealed) in the fridge a week or more.
Wine of the Vintage - Ch. Léoville-Las Cases, St. Julien
Jean-Hubert Delon has a knack for pulling something special out of the
bag, and in a vintage as difficult as 2007 he has made what is undoubtedly one
of the best of the batch. One that should develop well too.
Jake Dean, Fine Wine Sales Manager
Best Value Wine - Ch.
Doisy-Védrines, Sauternes
An awesome offering and such good value - get as much as you can, whilst you
can.
Cellar Must Have - Ch. Pontet-Canet,
Pauillac
Pontet-Canet continues to make great strides and in a tricky vintage they have
shown what can be achieved by meticulous vineyard management - superb.
Wine of the Vintage - Ch. Léoville-Las Cases, St. Julien
It is extraordinary how consistently good this château is - intensity,
depth, concentration and character all in abundance.
