BBR Scoops Multiple Wine Awards

Berry Bros. & Rudd stole the show at the 2006 International Wine Challenge and picked up the most coveted title of overall Wine Merchant of the Year.

As well as this ultimate accolade, Berrys swept the board by also winning the following awards:   

Independent Wine Merchant of the Year

Specialist Merchant of the Year - Bordeaux

Specialist Merchant of the Year - Burgundy

Regional Merchant of the Year - London

Website of the Year

Simon Berry, Chairman of Berry Bros. & Rudd, says: ";The International Wine Challenge awards - all six of them! - are a great boost for everyone who works at Berrys. Judges of the International Wine Challenge said Berrys skilfully combined the old and new and had a great attention to detail.

Berry Bros & Rudd has won the prestigious 2006 Best Independent Merchant award at the 2006 Decanter World Wine Awards.

Renowned as one on the world's most influential and respected wine competitions, the Decanter World Wine Awards is a global competition whose aim is to provide credible recommendations for today's wine consumer. The Awards reflect regional styles, celebrate diversity, promote value for money, and highlight quality. This was the first year in which Retailer Awards have been made.

The winners of the 2006 Decanter World Wine Awards Retailer Awards have been voted for by the wine-buying public in a poll on decanter.com and in Decanter magazine, as well as Decanter's expert judges.

The judges noted that ";as an all round merchant which also takes on the role of educator, it can't be beaten.";

Berry Bros & Rudd came second in the Best Mail Order/ On-line Merchant, and was the only merchant to have been nominated in two categories. The judges described Berry Bros. & Rudd's website, as the ";Rolls Royce of websites"; and a ";superbly-designed site";.
