Berrys' Good Ordinary White - I 'm a firm believer in the adage "if it's too good to be true, then it probably is" but I would temper that adage with "don't look a gift horse in the mouth". The company has too much of this vintage and we have the new vintage arriving any day now, hence the generous discount, more than a pound chaper than House White and by far a better wine. Read the tasting note below and say hello to the horse as you buy it.
Produced especially for us by the highly-respected Bordeaux producer Dourthe, this blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon exudes luscious, creamy, tropical fruit alongside notes of fresh grapefruit. With a smooth texture and superb concentration, this is wonderful to drink now and exemplifies the excellent quality of Bordeaux's white wines. £5.50 in our Bin End Shop rather than the usual price of £6.25. 2007 Bernkasteler Badstube Riesling Kabinett, Selbach-Oster - Selbach-Oster are well known for producing wines which offer fantastic value for your money. This excellent example of German Riesling is no different, with a hint of sweetness accurately balanced by the acidity. The honeyed nose leads to a tropical fruit-filled palate with prevalent notes of apple. At 8.5% ABV, this can either be enjoyed on its own, or works well with seafood, Asian and Thai cuisine alike. £12.45 in our Bin End Shop rather than the usual £16.60 price. (February 2012)

2006 Ch. du Gaby, Canon Fronsac, Bordeaux - This great wine is from an historic château in Bordeaux known for making wine with finesse, concentration and excellent balance of acidity and tannin. With aromas of cassis and delicious ripe fleshy plum and vanilla flavours, this elegant, velvety wine would be a hit with a sunday roast or game casserole. £14.95 in our Bin End Shop rather than the usual £19.95 price, or just £13.95 when you buy a case. (December 2011)

2008 Escudo Rojo, Baron Philippe de Rothschild, Maipo Valley, Chile - The 2008 vintage is another outstanding success from the joint French and Chilean enterprise. Comprising four traditional french grape varieties namely , cabernet sauvignon, carmenere, cabernet franc and syrah which are planted in carefully selected vineyard plots and then vinified separately , having been hand picked in the vineyard, it is then blended in the bodega and matured for 12 months in french oak. Intense aromatic complexity with beautifully balanced structure and a long , lingering finish. Drink now or enjoy over the next few years. £9.95 in our Berrys' Bin End Shop rather than the usual £13.30 price. (November 2011)
