2004 Caiarossa, IGT Tuscany
(code: 66057B)
Stylistically, a "super-Tuscan" blend of Merlot (33%), Cabernet(33%) and
Sangiovese (22%), spiced up with a splash of Petit Verdot (6%), Alicante (3%),
Syrah (2%) and Mourvedre (1%), from biodynamically-grown grapes. The low
proportion of new barrels for the maturation allows a pure expression of the
sumptuous, seductively ripe flavours reminiscent of black cherries, menthol,
licorice, figs and jammy plum, followed by earthy and smokey overtones.
Declicious to drink now and for the next 4-5 years.
