Best of 2008 Bordeaux En Primeur

Bordeaux 2008 is a vintage like no other we have ever tasted – combining high levels of ripeness with incredible purity of fruit. The nearest comparison is a cross between 2004 and 2006, but with the late harvest ripeness of 1988.

Out of the 385 wines we tasted for Bordeaux En Primeur 2008 we (a team of six of us) narrowed it down, firstly to 42 wines and then, finally, to our Top Ten Value Bordeaux 2008s.

Brimming with juicy red and black forest fruits yet with a savoury twist of graphite, Ch. Talbot once again shows its quality in 2008. Full bodied and flavoursome, this displays ripe, firm tannins and refreshingly crunchy fruit on the finish.
