This year we are offering over 200 different 2008 Burgundies from an array of producers covering a wide range of styles, appellations and prices.

The whites are intriguing in that they have a richness of fruit, especially in their primary aromatics, combined with a noted acidity behind. - Read White Wines Vintage Report

There are no rules for the reds this year. There is no evident bias in favour of either the Côte de Beaune or the Côte de Nuits. The first vintage for Sylvain from a new farming agreement on some vines planted in 1978. Tiny bunches of grapes have made a deliciously pretty wine with the usual Loichet energy.

Attractive, medium deep, bright red colour with really attractive uop front fruit on the nose. Lovely dark cherry fruit infuses the glass, while the palate has just enough tannic structure to hold this wine together for three or four years.

We were very struck by the quality of this wine, from a new source for Camille Giroud. Superb deep purple in colour, with dense flesh on the palate and even some black fruit flavours from old vine fruit, this is quite powerful and distinctly classy.
