En Primeur

En Primeur, also known as Wine Futures, refers to the process of buying wine before it’s bottled and released onto the market. Wines can only be purchased by the unmixed case (12 bottles, 24 half bottles, 6 magnums) and are usually delivered 2-3 years after the vintage.

Bordeaux En Primeur Red 2011

2013 Red Bordeaux
The weather conditions in 2013 were truly dreadful. However, some estates – anything between 20 and 50 had the terroir, the technology, the money or the mastery to come up with wines which are truly worthy of their brands.

Boddeaux en primeur white 2011

2013 White Bordeaux
Sauternes promises to be an excellent year. The dry white wines are a welcome success of the vintage in most parts, with fresh, complex Sauvignons. They are not opulent, but like the reds, they offer good to very good early drinking.

Score: 7/10

Burgundy En Primeur Red 2012

2012 Red Burgundy
A smaller crop in 2012 caused by the adverse weather conditions in the earlier part of the growing season. The wines are similar in quality to those of 2010 but with a quite different style.

Score: 9/10

Burgundy En Primeur White 2012

2012 White Burgundy
In the Mâconnais and Chablis the crop was small but still produced some good quality wines. Most Chablis wines are unusually fruity, however those picked early have kept their classical mineral finish.
