Top Ten Value Bordeaux 2008s
There’s nothing more enjoyable, or exciting, than the taste of a fine
wine. Even better when it is from a highly sought after estate. En primeur gives you
access to wines before they’re bottled, and often for the best price. If
you’re considering buying en primeur, Bordeaux 2008 wines could be a good
place to start.
Bordeaux 2008 is a vintage like no other we have ever tasted – combining high levels of ripeness with incredible purity of fruit. The nearest comparison is a cross between 2004 and 2006, but with the late harvest ripeness of 1988.
In early April, the Berrys’ team went to Bordeaux to try the Bordeaux 2008 wines en primeur. Out of the 385 wines we tried that week, we narrowed it down, firstly to 42 wines and then, finally, to our Top Ten Value Bordeaux 2008s.
Happily, the 2008 vintage has produced some of the best-priced Bordeaux en primeur wines for a decade. The following, therefore, all represent stunning value and would make superb additions to any cellar.
