Angelo Gaja 2008

Angelo Gaja is Italy's most renowned and dynamic wine personality and his impact on wine production in the last 30 years cannot be overestimated. His wines can be described as iconic - it's fair to say that these wines are amongst the best from Piedmont, from Italy, indeed the world. To put this simply, we are very much in first growth territory, and even his "straight" Barbaresco can hold its own against the best from Bordeaux.

2008 is a vintage to buy selectively in Piedmont - it is very much a winemakers' vintage and, as one would expect, Angelo Gaja has done very well indeed.
