Lusco do Mino
Founder of the Margadio estate, José Antonio Lopez has since 1984 been a pioneer in the revival of world awareness for Galicia`s Albariño grape variety.
In 1996 he bought Pazo Pineiro, a 16th Century stone manor, with 10 acres of prime Albariño vineyards that had been planted back in the 80s. This vineyard has since provided the core fruit for Lusco Albariño.
The thick old walls of the Pazo Pineiro provide ideal conditions for winemaking and storage. A commitment to naturally dry wines obligates very low yields and rigorous selection. As a result, Lusco displays atypical richness and food friendly, crisp minerality.
