Samos Cooperative UWCS

The Island of Samos has an extraordinary wine heritage, stretching back perhaps as far as the 13th century. It has established a name for its naturally sweet dessert wines made from the Muscat grape (Muscat Blancs ‡ Petits Grains)

The sweet Samos Muscat wines constitute a unique wine family highly appreciated all over the world. Their exquisite, velvety taste, rich aroma and golden colour have won much praise from wine experts and lovers alike.  Samos is the first Greek wine to have been appointed an "appellation of controlled origin" and historically, it has always been one of Greece's most prominent ambassadors in the international wine market, having won hundreds of golden distinctions in prestigious wine events all over the world.

The Samos Cooperative, one of Greece's oldest co-operatives, yet highly regarded force of modernity and innovation on the Greek wine scene, has established itself as the custodian of the island's famous Muscat tradition. The cooperative actually has contributed the outmost in the renaissance of an industry that was a shadow of its formal self at the time of the cooperative's foundation in 1934.
