Cucao
Cucao is the name of the range of wines with Reserva status and is in
fact the name of a small South American bird which in Chile is supposed
to bring luck.
Alvaro Espinoza is the most famous wine-maker in Chile; his alchemy is built upon a gift for identifying excellent sites, working alongside some of the more traditional winemakers and nurturing the potential from the cultivar that is most suited to a particular location.
The fruit for the Cucao range is sourced in the Colchagua Valley with hand-picked grapes picked late in April to ensure optimal ripeness and then a lengthy cuvaison for a maximum extraction of flavour.
