Clos du Frantin

Domaine du Clos Frantin is one of several domaines in Burgundy managed under the Bichot family company, which was formed in 1831. The current managing director, Albéric Bichot, produces wines from the Côte de Nuits under the name of Clos Frantin, which has holdings in Flagey-Echezeaux, Gevrey Chambertin, Nuits Saint Georges, Vosne Romanée and Vougeot. Among the estate’s 13 hectares are several Grand and Premier Cru plots.
 
The domaine has done exceptionally well in recent years: its Clos Frantin Echezeaux won the Decanter International Pinot Noir Trophy in 2004, and three of its wines won gold at the 2004 International Wine Challenge, leading proprietor Albert Bichot to be named as red wine maker of the year at the same awards.
