Château Le Sartre
Pessac-Léognan - owned by GFA du Ch. Le Sartre/Famille Perrin, this 22 ha property produces on average Red: 8,000 cases per year; White: 2,500. Located in the south-west corner of the appellation, the property shares a similar climate to that enjoyed by the Médoc, although it tends to be slightly hotter with more rainfall. The vineyards (R:Cabernet Sauvignon 70%; Merlot 30%; W: Semillon 20%; Sauvignon Blanc 80%) lie on gravel beds with sandy topsoils. Red wine vinification includes extended wood ageing, 20% new oak. Whites enjoy almost a year on the lees before bottling.
