Domaine du Grand Ormeau
Domaine du
Grand Ormeau is of the many up-and-coming estates, in the satellite
appellation of Lalande-de-Pomerol,
next door to Pomerol, capable of producing excellent wines without the very
lofty price tags of their illustrious neighbour.
The estate produces annually approximately 4,000 cases of wine from its 40acres of vineyards.
The style is very Merlot-dominated (75%- with the remainder from the two Cabernets), with the softness of texture and the richness one associates with this great vintage.
