Bodegas Francisco Cases
Bodegas Francisco Casas are 4th generation owned growers and wine
producers in the dynamic region of Toro, one of Spain's most
progressive wine regions. Toro wines have been revered since Roman times,
have consistently furnished Spanish Royal wine cellars and even made the
journey centuries ago with Spain's famous maritime explorers to the New
World.
Centred on the ancient town of Toro on the river Duero (which flows into the Atlantic as the river Douro at Porto in Portugal), the Toro wine region is on Spain's central plateau some 750 metres above sea level. The climate is continental, with long, hot, dry summers and cool nights - perfect for the riper, thick-skinned Tinta de Toro (acclimatised Tempranillo) grapes.
