Turkey Flat Vineyards

Turkey Flat Vineyards

Turkey Flat Vineyards is a wine estate located in Barossa Valley in Australia. It was here, on the banks of Tanunda Creek where bush turkeys once roamed, that pioneer Silesian settler Johann Friedrich August Fiedler planted the first vines in 1847.

The vineyard was purchased by the Schulz family in 1860 and is still owned by the family today. It yields very small quantities of intense, concentrated Shiraz and is the cornerstone of Turkey Flat vineyards.

The eclectic range of wines – including a rare unblended Mourvèdre, Pedro Ximénez fortified wine, and an ‘air-dried’ Marsanne (The Last Straw) - are produced in very small quantities. The reds are made using only French oak and are made in an elegant and restrained style.

Turkey Flat Rosé is widely touted as Australia’s best and is widely lauded by wine critics. This rosé is one of the only Rosé producers to own dedicated Rosé vineyards.
