Fattoria Resta all 2 hectares of it lies on the site of a 16th century Franciscan monastery in the Val d’Orcia, basking in the glow of the great Montalcino hill.

The wine, a velvety 100% Sangiovese, is very much Anna Lisa's wine, and Anna Lisa's no ordinary 'gal': Mezza Americana, part time yoga teacher, DJ & passionate English football supporter (of which Club she hasn't divulged), she's also married to Claudio, aka ‘Mr. Altesino’, President of one of Montalcino top wine estates.

She began at the Chianti Classico Consorzio at the tender age of 19 before graduating to Montalcino’s Costanti. Homework completed she knew where to plant her vines: outside the monastery that serves as home for her family and wine.

‘Martin del Nero’ refers to the man whose name Annalisa found etched into the brickwork of the monastery’s cellar; he’s her spiritual guide if you will. Annalisa produced her first vintage in Fattoria Resta in 2004; fermented in stainless-steel and aged in small French oak; oak which melts into the wine.
