Bouvet-Ladubay
Bouvet-Ladubay is considered the cream of the great Saumur houses. Bouvet-Ladubay was estabished in 1851 before at one point becoming the largest producer of sparkling wine in the world. Today, under the shy but far from retiring Patrice Monmousseau, production is now around 2 million bottles of Saumur annualy.
Patrice works closely with a wide number of vignerons to produce the best possible grapes. All the wines are then vinified "in house" and this assures Patrice total control of the quality of the wines, a policy in sharp contrast to some of the region's more traditional prodcuers.
Bouvet-Ladubay produces a range of elegant and fruity wines that display freshness and great finesse.
