Domaine Chanson

Chanson Père & Fils was founded in 1750 in Burgundy by Simon Verry, in the reign of Louis XV. The Chanson family took over the estate in the 16thcentury and Alexis Chanson furthered the development of the domaine, adding to it the holdings that the family already owned in Beaune, Savigny les Beaune and Pernand Vergelesses.

In 1999, the domaine was purchased by the Family Champagne Group Societé Jacques Bollinger, a group which contains several prestigious domaines and wine estates under its wing. They appointed Gilles de Courcel to run the business in 2002. The domaine currently has holding of over 45 hectares, including 10 Premier Crus, 1 Grand Cru and a monopole Premier Cru, where the whole vineyard is owned by the domaine.

The new team, led by Jean-Luc Parent and Jen-Pierre Confuron has made considerable improvements, beginning in the vineyards which are now ploughed and no longer fertilized. They also practise separate vinification of different plots of vineyards.
