Domaine Le Couroulu

Vacqueyras has consistently produced finer wines than the other Côtes du Rhône Villages communes, and after vociferous lobbying, was finally granted its own AC in 1990. This is one of the leading properties in the village - it is named after the curlew bird which is known as "Couroulu" in Provençal. The Estate has been in the hands of the Ricard family for 3 generations and it is now Guy who is in charge.

There are 19 hectares of vines, mainly Grenache and Syrah, planted on south-facing, stony terraces overlooking the Ouvèze River. These are fine and elegant examples of Vacqueyras that benefit from 3-4 years bottle ageing and will keep well for up to 8 years.
