Domaine du Petit Metris

Domaine du Petit-Metris is a family owned and run domaine, which is located on the edge of the renowned Quarts de Chaume cru. It is owned by Hervé and Pascal Renou and they now 40 hectares of vineyards - 33 hectares in the Layon, 5 in Saumur and 2 hectares in Savennières. Hervé and Pascal both studied oneology in Bordeaux and have adopted many modern techniques in the winemaking.

Yield are very tightly restricted and at vintage time a very careful selection is made in the vineyards with only the healthiest and ripest fruit being picked. The grapes are matured in a combination of large wooden foudres and smaller barriques. The wines are consistently rich, well balanced and intensely satisfying.
