Bischofliches Konvict


The Bischofliches Weingutter(wineries of the Bishop) actually consists of 3 Estates - Bischofliches Priesterseminar, Hohe Domkirche, and Bischofliches Konvict. It is still owned by the Catholic Church and is run by Dr. Wolfgang Richter. All the wines are vinified and matured in Trier and a total of 97 hectares of vineyards are cultivated in the Mosel-Saar-Ruwer Region. The Bischoflices Konvict Estate, which was established in 1840, comprises of just over 40 hectares of vineyards - Piesporter Goldtropfchen and Trier Avelsbach on the Mosel, Ayler Kupp and Ayler Herrenberger on the Saar, and Eitelsbacher Marienholz and Kaseler Kehrnagel on the Ruwer.
