Located in Monforte d'Alba, Italy, Giacomo Fenocchio boasts a rich history of family winemaking, with five generations dedicated to crafting exceptional wines since 1894. Initially, their production catered primarily to the local market. However, in 1964, a pivotal shift occurred when Giacomo Fenocchio, a visionary figure within the family, took charge of the estate. Under his leadership, the winery expanded its reach and began garnering international recognition.
Fenocchio wines are known for their dedication to showcasing the unique characteristics of their vineyards. They achieve balance in their wines by employing a combination of traditional and modern techniques. Practices like meticulous grape selection (green harvesting) and extended fermentation periods are utilized to create well-structured wines. The aging process for their Barolo involves a combination of stainless steel tanks, large Slovenian oak casks, and finally bottle aging before release. Their offerings extend beyond Barolo, with an intriguing orange wine produced from the Arneis grape varietal.
