Chateau Les Ormes Sorbet

Chateau Les Ormes Sorbet

A cru bourgeois property that produces some of the finest clarets in the AC Médoc classification. Château Les Ormes Sorbet can trace its history back to 1764 and present owner Jean Boivert represents the 8th generation of his family to produce wine here. The property is located in the northern Médoc in the small commune of Couquèques, which is known for its undulating topography and its particular type of sedimentary limestone.

There are 23 hectares of vineyards planed with 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, and a small percentage of Petit Verdot and the now rare Carmenère. The grapes are hand harvested and then fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel vats. The wine is then matured in small oak barriques (33% New) for 18 months. It is bottled unfiltered.
