In 1987, Thomas E. Bulleit, Jr. decided it was time to revive his family's ancestral distilling enterprise by creating the Bulleit Distilling Company with the original recipe of his great-great-grandfather, Augustus Bulleit.

While Bulleit is now a Seagram brand, Bulleit himself still serves as an advisor to Seagram.
