Joan d'Anguera
This bodega in Darmos, Tarragona, was established in 1825 and is still owned and run by descendants of the founding family. In the last 15 years the quality of the wines has progressed in leaps and bounds and winemaker Josep Anguera Beyme is now producing exemplary wines. Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon have been planted in the last decade and ageing in small oak barriques has been introduced.
Anguera produces 2 red wines at present, both from a blend of Garnacha, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Syrah. The Tinto Joven is a young fruit-driven wine, while the Finca l'Argata is a more serious and complex oak-aged wine.
