Glen Carlou

Nestled high in the foothills of the Simonsberg Mountains, looking northwards towards Paarl, lies Glen Carlou Vineyards. The 108-hectare farm once formed part of the original Simonsvlei land grant and was given the name Glen Carlou by a later owner in honour of his 3 daughters, Lena, Carol and Louise.

In 1985 it was purchased by celebrated winemaker Walter Finlayson. In 1986 Donald Hess from the world famous Hess Collection Winery in the Napa Valley became a partner and his cash and expertise have helped to make Glen Carlou`s wine some of the most sought-after in the country. The wine is now made by Walter's son, David.

Glen Carlou produce a mouth-watering range of reds and white, which are characterised by their depth and precision of fruit and their smooth and silky textures.
