Simonsig
Simonsig is situated about 6 kilometres north of Stellenbosch and consists of 3 separate farms, each in a different mesoclimate. It now produces over 150,000 cases of wine a year.
Simonsig has been owned by the Malan family since 1953 with winemaker Frans Malan, an important pioneer in the South African wine industry, bottling his first wines in 1968. His 3 sons, Pieter, Francois and Johan, now run the property and, after 33 years Simonsig is still producing very high quality wines that rate amongst the very best in South Africa.
