Barnwood Vineyard
At 3,200 feet above sea level, the Santa Barbara Highlands offer a unique mountain terroir, which is being exploited to great effect by Eric Hickey, the winemaker at Barnwood. Their objective is to produce affordable wines in a natural way, without the use of chemical pesticides and fungicides.
They are particularly proud of their Bordeaux and Rhône varietal wines that clearly reflect a French influence. The mountain soil and climate, combined with sophisticated vineyard practices and judicious use of French oak in the winery, together help Barnwood create wines of elegance, class and impressive balance.
