Whitney Estate

California - a blend of Grenache & Syrah which, as in the Rhône, combines to produce a sturdy, full-bodied wine. Grenache is suited to Calfornia, particularly in the Central Valley (inland & running parallel to the coast) as the sole variety able to really tolerate the arid conditions prevalent in this region. Its ability to deliver wines with high degrees of alcohol is matched by the Syrah's propensity for vigour & extraction; a formula that's been tried & tested in France.
