Hanna Winery
Hanna Winery was founded in 1985 by Dr. Elias Hanna, a world-renowned cardiac surgeon dubbed "the fastest hands in the west". It is now run by Christine Hanna and has vineyards in some of Sonoma County's finest appellations with the Chardonnay grapes tending to come from Carneros and Russian River and the Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot from Alexander Valley.
The whites are particularly worth highlighting - the barrel-fermented Sauvignon Blanc reveals well-focused fruit, a spicy melon nose, and a creamy texture with underlying smoke and minerals. The Chardonnay is characterised by its purity and ripeness and possesses an enticing bouquet of tropical fruits intermingled with citrus notes and hints of oak.
