Oakville, Napa Valley - owned by Dennis Groth, this winery produces on average 40,000 case per year, both red & white wines. The majority of grapes (Chardonnay, Merlot, & Cabernet Sauvigon) are grown on their 39-acre Hillview Vineyard at Yountville, or on their 100-acre Oakcross Vineyard at Oakville. Both estates are classified as a Region III (similar heat summation as Piedmont, Italy), although tempered by fog banks & cool ocean breezes rolling in from San Pablo Bay. The Oakcross Vineyard, in particular, is responsible for supplying the Chardonnay grapes which then undergo barrel fermentation (French) & eight months' lees contact.
