Copeland Estate
Legend has it that as the 2nd son of a prosperous land owning family over a century ago, it was expected that Josiah Copeland should become a priest. However Josiah had other ideas and turned to vine rather than the cross. He planted vines in Murrumbidgee, named after the river that flows through the Riverina, New South Wales`s largest grape growing area.
In the early part of the last century there was a large influx of Italian immigrants to Riverina, bringing vinicultural and viticultural skills from their homeland. Today Riverina has some of the most modern wineries in Australia employing the very latest techniques in winemaking.
