Domaine Lafond Roc-Epine

Domaine Lafond, now run by Jean-Pierre and Pascal Lafond, is based in Tavel where it has 35 hectares of vineyards and produces one of the best Tavels on the market today. The domaine also has a 10-hectare holding in the neighbouring commune of Lirac, where it produces both red and white wines.

The red is a blend of Grenache (60%), Syrah (30%), Carignan (10%) and Cinsault (10%). The wine is matured for 18 months (spending 4-5 months in wooden casks) before being bottled and released. It is delicious when young but can be cellared for up to 5 years.
