Chateau Cheval Noir
The Cheval Noir brand name was first registered in 1895 and this wine has been a thoroughbred of the Mähler-Besse stable for over 60 years. This famous brand takes its name from the Cheval Noir estate in the western part of the Saint-Emilion appellation (in a place named Rivalon) acquired by Mähler-Besse in 1937.
Thanks to rigorous efforts in the vineyard and cellars, quality is consistently good whatever the vintage. The blend is typically 60% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Cabernet Franc.
