Azienda Agricola Val Cerasa
The Bonaccorsi family has been tending the vineyards on the eastern slope of Etna at an altitude of 500-850 metres (where the finest Sicilian wines are produced), for four generations. The high altitude and the volcanic soil produce wines of immense character and structure.
The estate is presently managed by Vincenzo with the support of his daughter Alice, an agronomist, Rosario Pappalardo and by consultant oenologist, Salvatore Foti. Only indigenous varietals are grown which include Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Cappuccio and Carricante. Crucially Vincenzo has maintained the traditional "in goblet" trellissing that severely limits yields and in turn produces concentrated and intense wines.
