Tosolini Maschio
Founded by the late Giuseppe (Bepi) Tosolini in 1943, Tosolini Maschio is now one of the most respected distillate producers in Italy. Tosolini Maschio is based in Marsure di Povoletto, just outside of Udine in the north-eastern Italian region of Friuli-Venezia-Giulia.
The focus of the business is now, and always has been grappa, a spirit optained from the pomace of grape skins as a bi-product of the wine industry. While many grappa are every day, quite often rough spirits, from early on Bepi could see the potential market in better quality and varietal grappe.
The top of the production at Tosolini however is the "Most" a spirit made from free run grape must. This is a different type of spirit from grappa with a more refined mouthfeel, that makes a perfect substitute for brandy.
The company is today run by Bepi's son, Giovanni, and his sons and daughter, Giuseppe, Bruno and Lisa.
