Domaine des Corbillières
Domaine Des Corbillières's history can be traced back to Dominique Barbou's great grandfather. He founded the estate in 1905 with an initial plantation of 10 ares (1/10th of a hectare) an area he tripled in 1920 before buying the Domaine itself and its name in 1923. Today the estate covers 23 hectares, including 13 hectares of Sauvignon Blanc with the remainder being planted with Gamay, Cabernet Franc, Pinot Noir and Malbec.
Planted on the gentle sandy and clay slopes of the "butte" of Oisily, the vineyard benefits from fine exposition and drainage. Dominique picks by hand (for the Gamays) or machine before pressing gently with a pneumatic press. The Sauvignon Blanc grapes are fermented in a selection of temperature controlled stainless steel and epoxy-lined cement vats with the wines then resting with their "lies fines" until bottling.
