Domaine Montgilet

Coteaux de l`Aubance is a small Loire Valley appellation located parallel to the Coteaux du Layon AC. It is now regarded as an excellent source of luscious, sweet, white wines which sell at lower prices than those found in its more illustrious neighbouring appellations. Domaine Montgilet can trace its history back to 1880 and for many years was owned and run by Victor Lebreton. He died aged 97 in 1997 and his grandchildren, Victor and Vincent, now run the property.

The property now consists of 32 hectares of vineyards located in the commune of Juigné sur Loire. Both red and white wines are produced, though the estate is most renowned for its sweet white wines. These are produced from botryisised Chenin Blanc grapes and are produced in small quantities. Demand is high as the quality is outstanding.
