Sauvion et Fils

Sauvion et Fils is one of the leading quality negociant firms in the Muscadet Region, and today is run by Jean-Ernest Sauvion. Based in the town of Vallet in the heart of the Sevre et Maine district, the firm has very few contracts with growers preferring the flexibility of purchasing what they consider to be the best wines from each vintage from a wide range of growers. Chateau du Cleray is situated in Eolie and is one of the few properties owned by the firm. Its wines are characterised by their finesse, raciness, and elegance and their pure, crisp fruit notes. These are weightier and more long lived than the average Muscadet - in order to achieve the perfect balance of acidity fruit and weight the wines are bottled "sur lie" in the year following the harvest.
