Rijckaert

Dutchman Jean Rijckaert (pronounced "Ray-Cart")was for many years was Jean-Marie Guffens's partner at the highly regarded Mâconnais-based négociant, Verget. He left to produce his own wines and was rewarded with his first vintage in 1998. The passion he brought to the Verget wines has clearly been channelled into his own endeavours, where he produces wines from throughout southern Burgundy and, as a particular enthusiasm, in the Jura.

Jean concentrates on wines that deliver maximum expression of fruit within a controlled framework of oak, and the wines reflect his own intense and passionate personality.
