Château Haut-Batailley

Pauillac - owned by Mme. des Brest-Borie. This 15 ha property produces on average 8,200 cases per year.

Located in the very south of the Pauillac appellation, the property shares a similar climate to that enjoyed by the Médoc: maritime, with the Gironde estuary and the Bay of Biscay combining to act as a climate regulator and the coastal pine forests sheltering the vines from the westerly and north-westerly winds.

The vineyards (Cabernet Sauvignon 65%; Merlot 25%; Cabernet Franc 10%) lie on deep gravel beds over limestone. Vinification includes up to 20 months' wood ageing, 40% new. It is classified as a 5ème cru classé.
