Château Haut-Lariveau
Château Haut-Lariveau is located in the Fronsac appellation and owned by B & G Hubau. This 4.7 hecatare property produces on average 2,000 cases per year. Located in the south of the Fronsac appellation, the property and appellation have a similar climate to that enjoyed by both St-Emilion and Pomerol: more continental than the maritime Médoc, with generally more spring rainfall, though less in summer and winter. Its proximity to the river Dordogne and hilly topography limits the risk of frost.
Haut-Lariveau's vineyards (Merlot 100%) lie on a clay/limestone soil. Vinification includes extended wood ageing, 30% new oak.
