Château Cadet-Piola
Owned by Alain Jabiol, this 7 ha wine property produces on average 3,000 cases
per year. Located in the centre of the St.Emilion appellation, to the
north of St.Emilion town, Chateau Cadet Piola shares a
similar climate to that enjoyed by both St.Emilion & Pomerol: more
continental than the maritime Médoc with generally more spring rainfall,
though less in summer & winter.
Its vineyards (Merlot 51%; Cabernet Franc 18%; Cabernet Sauvignon 28%; Malbec 3%) enjoy both the limestone of the St.Emilion plateau, as well as the clay/loam content of the "Côtes". Vinification includes oak ageing, with up to 50% new new barrels. The Chateau is classified as a Grand Cru Classé.
