Château du Glana
One of the leading cru bourgeoisie properties in St-Julien. It was built up by the Kaelin family in the first half of the 20th century and its vineyards are made up of plots that were previously part of Château St-Pierre, and Château Lagrange. They now total 42 hectares, which along with Château Gloria make it the largest holding in St-Julien outside of the classed growths.
The wine is typically a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, and 5% Cabernet Franc. The grapes are fermented in a variety of temperature controlled vats and the wine is then matured in oak barriques (20% new) for 15-18 months. It is bottled unfiltered.
