Château La Louvière (rouge)
Pessac-Léognan - owned by A.Lurton, this 50 ha property produces on average Red: 17,500 cases per year; White: 6,800. Located in the centre of the appellation, the property shares a similar climate to that enjoyed by the Médoc, although it tends to be slightly hotter with more rainfall.
The vineyards (Red:Cabernet Sauvignon 64%; Merlot 30%; Cabernet Franc 3%; Petit Verdot 3%; White: Sémillon 15%; Sauvignon Blanc 85%) lie on gravel beds with sandy topsoils. Both red & white vinification includes extended wood ageing, employing generous amounts of new oak.
